A Cron or Cron Job is an Application, that executes other programs at certain times or intervalls during the day. The Cron program, which is an unix programm, looks at the cron table every x seconds and compares it with the time. If there s any job to execute, cron executes it instantly. Cron can also be used to execute applications at reboot!
