DOM stands for Document Object Model. It is an interface/platform (sometimes referred as object model) which allows programs to present data in structured format (such as XML, HTML). It allows dynamic access and update of the content. DOM implementation requires object to be kept in memory for processing unlike SAX which is event driven interface.
