Emoticons are symbols used to give the one, who you are communicating with, an idea, of what your emotions are at the moment. Emoticons are used e.gg. in boards, where it s hard to distinguish if one thing, a guy said was meant in a friendly or unfriendly, in an ironic or normal way.
