What is Goodwill?

Goodwill is the term given to the value of your business or operation that is not indicated via assets and liabilities on a spreadsheet of financial declarations for the going concern in question. That is, if the agreed value of your business is clearly worth more than the value of assets minus liabilities, then the value above this is referred to as goodwill (and should be declared on your balance sheet).
