What is InfoPath?

InfoPath is a tool from Microsoft to develop XML-based data entry forms, initially released as part of the Microsoft Office 2003 suite and later, as part of Microsoft Office 2007 suite. InfoPath can be used to author and view XML based forms/information and also, provides support for custom-defined XML schemas. It can be integrated with web services, databases to pull data at the runtime and can be saved on desktop as an XML file which can be viewed offline and can be modified for the fields which are not coming from some online source. Entire form can be resynchronized online.
