A Pagerank is a number, which represents the number and value of the links pointing to a page. It s used by Google to determine the importance of a page and used as a factor for the results of a search on Google.
The Pagerank considers not only the number of links, pointing to a page, but also the value of these links. For example a link from google.com is much more valuable than a link from a little blog.
