Viruses are software that are designed to replicate and spread themselves throughout a network environment. At worst, viruses can be designed to cause harm to your computer or device (by deleting important files, changing settings or rendering them inoperable) at best they do nothing but spread or pop up a message. Viruses usually spread via the Email (using your address book) and the Internet in general. Virus software is usually removed from your computer or device by using antivirus software. There are numerous commercial and free antivirus software packages available for various operating systems. Other nasty and problematic software you should be aware of and remove is Malware and Spyware.
