Conversion is the term to describe the action of a website visitor becoming a customer, or converting a new visitor to a customer, who buys through your website (or performs an action that results in revenue for you or your organisation). If creating that conversion costed you money (such as advertising click through) then you can work out a conversion rate (which is a standard reportable web marketing metric).
